Moritz obtained his BSc and Msc in computer science at TU Berlin, during which, he got excited about biology and AI. Working at the intersection of these two fields, his overarching aim is to make biomedical data analysis more accessible, and to decipher biological mechanisms from large-scale biomedical data repositiories. He achieves this, by developing multimodal AI architectures across the levels of biological organization. For example, he built CellWhisperer, which facilitates interactive single cell analysis with natural language. He is now pursuing postdoctoral training at Stanford, expanding his work to higher levels of biological organization such as cellular tissues with the aim to model organism-level phenotypes such as in cancer therapy.
