Mihaela Peycheva

Postdoctoral Fellow

Mihaela joined the lab in 2023 as postdoctoral fellow. She did her MSc in Cell Biology and Pathology in Bulgaria, and a PhD in Molecular Biology at the University of Vienna, Austria. During her PhD she worked with the antibody diversifying B cells and explored the molecular mechanisms of class switch recombination, oncogenic translocations, and DNA replication timing. For her PhD and bridging postdoc at IMP she set up and developed a large panel of next generation sequencing approaches and CRISPR/Cas9 line models to understand how replication timing can drive oncogenic translocations. Currently she is involved on understanding how aging modifies tissues and engineering lymphoid structures for translational uses.
